WHALERS 4 SPITS 0 FINAL
The final 20 minutes of the season. Yikes!

Big thanks to Dave and the gang at Rockhead Pub, 1444 Ottawa Street. Finer web partners do not exist!

1:09: Peters going off for a trip on KoKo. PP#3.

No shots on that PP.

6:40: Another PP goes by the wayside. One shot on that one. Nick Malysa blocked consecutive shots. Both ouchers.

Not a heck of a lot going on here in the third. Whole lot of popcorn in the pressbox. Jim Parker is telling knock-knock jokes.

11:20: Great shift for...Click here to read more

Whalers start the frame with 1:33 of PP time. But again a solid kill.

2:00: Now the issue is the Spits still have just six shots.

3:12: Ho-Sang hauled down on the way to the net. Crowd let's out a sarcastic cheer. Feel a couple have been missed. PP#1 Spits.

4:51: Aleardi nice feed to KoKo in the slot, but he can't handle it. Second unit out. 66-81-22-97-32. to wrap up the PP. But no love. Still just 8 WSR shots.

32-73-19 with 8 and 22 got it going. Replaced quickly by 81-97-42 with the same D pair.

3:01: Bater blows a tire and Meurs nearly has a chance, but tumbles a bit.

4:58: 1-0 PLY
Malysa absolutely flattens Ho-Sang. Whalers take it the other way and Uvira scores.

5:30: @emersonclark32 isn't going down easy. What a scrap with Sills. Good early shots by Clarky.

6:04: What a shift for @aleardi42. Two steals. Two chances. General havoc.

SPITS-WHALERS LINEUPS
Hard to believe the end of the season is here. But here we are, on St Paddy's Day afternoon (ahem) as the Spits get set for the back half of a home-and-home series with the Plymouth Whalers.

It's goodbye and good luck for a couple overagers: Emerson Clark and a true gentleman of the game, Alex Aleardi.

#42 hasn't been here long, but he's made a huge impression on everyone he has met and dealt with.

A minute on the soapbox here. I'm still pretty choked that the people in Plymouth last...Click here to read more
WHALERS 4 SPITS 3 OT
1:42: Heard scores a highlight reel goal to end this one. Gotta tip your hat to a guy in a case like that.

All three stars Whalers, in a game that features a 38-save performance from Pav and a three assists game (as many points as any 'star') by Aleardi? Righty right.

SPITS 3 WHALERS 3 END REG
Been an entertaining 40 minutes. Let's see how this third shakes out.

1:53: Studnicka and Jones dump their mitts. Pretty good fight.

3:20: Mistele dekes Pav and tries to slide one home. Pav circus stop. Half poke check.

4:10: Murphy an old school hipcheck on Mistele that wipes him out just past our bench. That will be Millsy's Riverside Custom Collision Collision of the Game.

7:29: KoKo is shoved right into Nedeljkovic. But he is called for goalie interference. Whole crowd though...Click here to read more
SPITS 2 WHALERS 2 END 2ND
3:01: Bilcke and Payne step out of the box. Probably in Ty's best interest to limit it to one tilt tonight. With a freshly healed left hand and shoulder that's just coming around again, he was relegated to pumping rights. And that's not his thing.

5:03 1-1 TIE
Was just thinking @Aleardi42 has been quiet. Then he dekes all five Whalers and everyone forgets about @BradyVail, who scores on the rebound from the hash marks.

Spits really coming on now. Have caught the Whalers a little flat-fo...Click here to read more

I'm usually pretty hard on the PA guy here. That's because he's extremely hard to tolerate. If you've been here, you know what I mean. If not, ask anyone outside these walls. Tonight, he's right on top of things. Anyhow ... just now, his sound check was totally insufferable. Greasy. Outside the bounds of good taste.

On to the business at hand. A lot a stake for a lot of our guys. And it starts in goal. I expect Pav to be very good tonight.

To put it bluntly, this series hasn't been as competitive (as it usually is) this season.

Just one win for the Spits in six tries, with the Whalers holding a 35-14 advantage overall and a 30-8 gap in their five wins.

Leading the offensive insultery (so, maybe that's not a word) has been Vincent Trocheck. Always a Spits killer (hell he's an everyone killer) while with the Saginaw Spirit, he's been even more so since he was dealt to the Whalers, with two goals and four assis

ATTACK 6 SPITS 0 FINAL
Spits fail to convert on tail end (21 seconds worth) of PP#3 to start the third period.

1:04: But Cook goes off for goalie interference. Right back to PP. #4.

2:38: 26 seconds of 5-on-3 time coming.

6:25: A frustrated @krychs gets Chiarlitti to oblige him in a tilt. Some good body shots! (underrated) and Kerby landed one big right.

7:01: Puck bounces up in the air and lands right at Smith's stick. Percy hooks him. Penalty shot.
Lots of flash. Cute little leg kick. Went wide lef...Click here to read more
